Multiple Grammy Award winner American singer and songwriter, performer of soul and gospel music, Gregory Porter, performed in Tbilisi Concert Hall on January 12.
Organized by SOLO and Eastern Promotions, the New Year concert of Gregory Porter was featured with Georgia's Evgeni Mikeladze State Symphony Orchestra. The concert was conducted by Nikoloz Rachveli.
Along with his most famous hits, Porter performed Nat King Cole’s “Smile”.
He released his latest album in 2017, titled “Nat King Cole & Me”, which is the fifth studio album. The album includes songs that were either recorded or inspired by Nat King Cole. As a child, he fell under the spell of his mother's Nat King Cole records, learning to imitate him.
His reputation was consolidated by his album 'Be Good' in 2012, which sold especially well in Europe and he was subsequently signed to the famous jazz label Blue Note, which released his highly successful Grammy Award-winning third album 'Liquid Spirit'. He was awarded his second Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album last year.
Porter has performed in Georgia previously within the frames of Tbilisi Jazz Festival 2016.
SOLO, the Bank of Georgia's Personal Service Group, offered their customers a special discount on the tickets for the concert.
