Symphonic Works of German Composers to be Performed in Tbilisi

On 10 February, Tbilisi Symphony Orchestra will present a program to the audience, including the works by giants of German Music – Ludwig van Beethoven, Richard Wagner and Richard Strauss.

The concert will be held at Tbilisi Center for Music & Culture.

The orchestra, leaded by Maestro George Jordania, will perform an overture for the opera “Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg” by Wagner and suite from the opera “Der Rosenkavalier” by Strauss.

The Georgian pianist, graduate of famous Juilliard School of Performing Arts in New York – David Aladashvili will perform a solo on Beethoven’s concerto for piano and orchestra N3.

David Aladashvili appeared in 2010 after performing at New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Centre venues.

Aladashvili was the first Georgian student studying at New York’s private Juilliard School Performing Arts in New York.

George Jordania, the son of the famous conductor - Vakhtang Jordania, graduated from Tbilisi Conservatory and the Leningrad (now: Saint Petersburg) Conservatory in 1989. Jordania continued his education in the United States and completed his Master's Degree at the University Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Tbilisi Center for Music & Culture was founded in 1989. The idea from 1976 belongs to the famous Georgian conductor Jansug Kakhidze. During 25 years of its existence, the center became an initiator and implementer of various important undertakings.

It has been renovated by German, Austrian and Dutch companies. The renovation was finished in 2011.
