Occupied Tskhinvali accuses former Georgian top officials of genocide
The de facto leadership of Georgia’s occupied Tskhinvali region in the country’s east has accused former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, ex-Interior Minister Ivane Merabishvili and ex-Defence Minister Irakli Okruashvili of genocide of the Ossetian people during the Russia-Georgia 2008 war.
“The investigation carried out by our law enforcement agencies revealed the crimes committed against Ossetian people by more than 45 former Georgian officials, Saakashvili, Merabishvili and Okruashvili among them. We have declared them wanted,” Vasil Poliakov, a representative of so-called General Prosecutor’s Office of occupied Tskhinvali told the media.
He stated that between 2004 and 2008 the South Ossetian law enforcers have instituted 166 criminal cases “committed by the representatives of Georgian law enforcement bodies” against the population of South Ossetia.
Poliakov claimed that 162 people were killed, 700 people were wounded, 53 were kidnapped, 735 houses were burnt and 1,510 houses were destroyed due to the actions of Georgian military units in Tskhinvali in 2004-2008.
Tbilisi Mayor names top problems in capital city
Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze believes that traffic jams, parking spots, transportation and traffic lights are key problems in the capital Tbilisi, which are not easy to regulate shortly.
"Traffic lights, parking, and transportation policy are important and need to be regulated and everyone in Tbilisi shares the view,” Kaladze said.
Kaladze stated that traffic jams, parking lots, outdated transport system are complex problems for the city which will be settled gradually.
