12th Black Sea Jazz Festival

The 12th Black Sea Jazz Festival took place on July 19-22.
Concerts were distributed to two main venues: traditionally Batumi Tennis Courts and Black Sea Arena.
Robert Plant, lead singer of Legendary British rock group Led Zeppelin, opened the festival. His concert was held at Black Sea Arena in Shekvetili seaside resort, which has a capacity of 10,000 seats in circular grandstands.
Artists, such as Wyclef Jean, DJ LO Loretta Brown aka Erykah Badu, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, performed throughout the festival this year.
On July 22, Batumi Tennis Courts hosted Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin, Christian Scott, Derrick Hodge, Taylor McFerrin, and Justin Tyson.
House Band - Mop Mop and Resident DJs also participated in the event.
Troy Andrews, also known by his stage name Trombone Shorty, is an American musician, producer, actor and philanthropist from New Orleans, Louisiana. Andrews, who is best known as a trombone and trumpet player, also plays drums, organ, and tuba.
Robert Glasper, who has performed in Georgia before, is an American pianist and record producer. He has been nominated for 6 Grammys, has won 3 Grammy Awards.
Black Sea Jazz Festival is an annual festival that takes place in Georgia’s Adjara Region bringing world-renowned artists and musicians to the Georgian scene.
Within the frames of the festival, famous artists such as Snoop Dogg, Prodigy, Lauryn Hill, Busta Rhymes, Jamiroquai and many others performed.
Offering music since 1998, Eastern Promotions has promoted in the Caucasus region notable and highly acclaimed musicians. Nowadays, Eastern Promotions is one of the largest producers of jazz festivals in post-Soviet countries.
