TBILISI PHOTO FESTIVAL kicks off with large multimedia project on

TBILISI PHOTO FESTIVAL 2018 will be held on September 13-20th. Ninth Edition of the festival unites a series of exhibitions and photo shows and the central event of the festival ‘Night of Photography’.
The premier showcase for regional and international photography in the Caucasus will be focusing on the 10th anniversary of the Russian-Georgian war in 2008.
The partnership between Tbilisi Photo Festival and Les Rencoltres d’Arles continues and - Arles’ - “Night of the Year” will be part of the Tbilisi Night of Photography in 2018.
For the first time, there will be names from Greece via the selection of Athens Trans European Photography Portfolio reviews.
TBILISI PHOTO FESTIVAL keeps the status of the most important photographic event of the Caucasus Region and has been collaborating with the leading world agencies and artists in the ninth edition.
The festival will be opened with a large multimedia project on September 13th.
The central event of the festival “…And We Came Out To See Once More The Stars” is an ambitious multimedia project combining video, photo, audio and texts and is “orchestrated” by French video artist Christian Barani, who is an honorable guest of the photo festival, and sponsored by Europe’s the most prestigious platforms with Multilanguage installations and modern video art stage ‘Realistic Poetry’.
The main element of the project is the multilingual installation of the documentary film by Augustine Christine Baran on the entire occupation line for the festival in August 2018.
The project also unites the works of the 10th World Documentary and War photographer, which set up a chronic of the Russian- Georgian war in August 2008. Among them are: Ron Haviv, Michael Robinson, Chavez, Yuri Kozyrev, Lionel Sharia, Oliver Labian Mattey, Bruno Stevens, Kayu Kamak, Rena Efferfi, Justyna Mielnikiewicz, and Thomas Dworzak. These photos are presented in Georgia the first time.
The works are provided by 20 different festivals, agencies, organizations, and publications.
The 9th edition of Tbilisi Night of Photography will feature also the shortlisted artists selected Via Open Call announced for the international participants.
Tbilisi Night of Photography remains as a central event of Tbilisi Photo Festival and attracts a big public for open-air night screening in Old Tbilisi.
