Seventeen years have passed from 9/11 tragedy
Monday, September 17
On this date, the American Friends Club held a friendly match in Softball, which was entirely devoted to the painful day in the US, September 11, 2001.
Before the game, the small ceremony has been performed within which the US and Georgian national anthem was performed. The guests invited to the event were able to symbolize the 9/11 solidarity banner of the United States flag color bands. Honorary mission to open the 9/11 match was dedicated to the President of American Friends Club Ilia Zukakishvili, who made the first symbolic delivery. The support and solidarity of the event were announced by firefighters of the Emergency Situation Service of Georgia, who honored their American colleagues with a minute of silence.
“On this day, all of us feel and we experience that terrible pain that can not be forgotten” – said the President of American Friends Club Ilia Zukakishvili.
The event, "9/11 Freedom Tree," is a project through which we would like to dedicate the honor to the victims of the terrible terrorist attack, as well as solidarity with their families and the American society.
With today’s event, we’d like to emphasize friendship between the American Friends Club and American people.
