US President’s National Security Advisor Visits Georgia this Week

US President Donald Trump’s National Security Advisor John Bolton visits Georgia this week, on 20 October.
“I will be traveling to Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia to meet with my counterparts and other senior officials to advance American interests on a range of security issues,” Bolton tweeted.
Bolton had previously served as the interim US ambassador to the United Nations.
Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani stated that the visit is of high importance.
He said that the visit will focus on the challenges facing the region as well as the greater involvement of America in these processes and the role and function of Georgia in the region.
"Recently, the Prime Minister of Georgia has visited Washington, where he met with Mr. Bolton in the White House, and this visit can be considered as the continuation of that visit, which also aims to deepen the strategic partnership between the US and Georgia in terms of the defense and security as well as the economic points of view.
“Naturally, we will discuss the challenges facing the region. Naturally, this is a proof that America gives a very high priority to Georgia in its political agenda," Zalkaliani said.
Last week The US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs George Kent visited Georgia when it's stated that the US is waiting for “high-standard” presidential elections in Georgia on 28 October.
Kent also reaffirmed the US support to Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and said that his country wishes to see Georgia as the member of the EU and NATO.
