Tbilisi Book Day will be held at the 11th pavilion of Expo Georgia on November 8-11.
The event is a joint project of the Book Art Center Tbilisi, Georgian National Book Center, and Expo Georgia.
This year the visitors will have a chance to see new translations, bestsellers, children’s literature, Georgian writers, translators and publishers with seminars and presentations.
The visitors will also get a special discount throughout the event.
Along with the opportunity to buy books, visitors will also have a chance to meet distinguished publishers, attend presentations of new books, enjoy the full cultural program of the event and also bring children to participate in various fun activities oriented on development.
The idea of the project is to expand the format of the Tbilisi International Book Festival. In addition to the traditional trade book fair, the Tbilisi Book Days will offer an extensive cultural, educational and entertainment program to the Georgian readers: international workshops and exhibitions, public lectures, children’s events, readings and discussions.
The organizers noted that their motivation while organizing the event was to turn it into a working lab for further development of the Georgian book sector.
All components of the festival are intended as ignition points for further projects, for joint programs of national, regional and international cooperation.
The Georgian National Book Center was established by the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia. It is financially supported within the funds earmarked under the Law of Georgia on State Budget. The Center serves to the interests of the national policy for promotion of Georgian books and literature abroad.
The main objectives of the GNBC are to support the process of translation of Georgian and foreign literature, enhancing intercultural dialogue through literature and presenting centuries-long Georgian intellectual resources to the international literary and publishing arena.
