Presidential elections 2018: Two Exit Polls Predict Runoff

Results of two exit polls out of three predict that the run-off presidential elections will be held in Georgia.
The Georgian Dream ruling party, the European Georgia opposition party and the Rustavi 2 private broadcaster had ordered the exit polls and released the results as soon as all polling stations were closed in Georgia at 8 pm yesterday.
Results released by the opposition-minded Rustavi 2 TV channel and the European Georgia say that the run-off will take place.
However, the results of exit polls ordered by the Georgian Dream party say that their supported independent candidate Salome Zourabichvili wins the elections in the first round.
The results announced by the Georgian Dream and conducted by the Georgian Psychoproject Research are as follows.
• Salome Zurabishvili-52.3 %
• Grigol Vashadze- a joint candidate of 10 opposition parties-28.1 %
• David Bakradze, a candidate of the European Georgia opposition-9.2 %
<• Zurab Japaridze, Girchi opposition party presidential candidate- 4.4 %
Results of exit polls conducted on the order of Rustavi 2 by the US Edison Research (the results are of 4pm ).
• Grigol Vashadze- 40 %
• Salome Zurabishvili-40 %
• David Bakradze-10 %
• Shalva Natelashvili [the Labour party]-3 %
• Davit Usupashvili[Movement for Building]- 2 %
Exit poll results conducted by BSG Research on the order of the European Georgia opposition:
• Grigol Vashadze-37 %
• Salome Zurabishvili-34 %
• David Bakradze-17 %
• Shalva Natelashvili-5 %
Zourabichvili and Vashadze both said that they are happy with the results. However, the Central Election Commission will have the final, official say.
Supposedly, the second round of presidential elections will be held.
