US security advisor: Certain Level of Corruption in Georgia, not High

US President Donald Trump’s Security Advisor John Bolton, who came in Tbilisi on Friday, stated in response to a journalist’s question, that there is a certain level of corruption in Georgia, but the level is in line with that in the developed countries and in America.
He also said that the United States imposed sanctions on Russia shortly after the Russia-Georgia war, to respond to the illegality on the Georgian territory.
Bolton also claimed that Georgia is one of the top strategic priorities for the United States.
During the meeting with Georgian PM Mamuka Bakhtadze the key directions of a strategic partnership between Georgia and USA, challenges faced by the region and prospects of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries were discussed.
Bakhtadze stressed the development trend of USA-Georgia strategic partnership and noted that bilateral relations have advanced to a completely new level recently.
“Attention was paid to the grave humanitarian condition in the occupied territories of Georgia and peace-keeping initiative of the Government of Georgia.
“Discussions were related to the security position witnessed in the region and role of Georgia in addressing the current challenges.
“Parties also discussed the prospects of intensified economic cooperation and introduction of a free trade regime with the USA,” the administration of the government of Georgia stated.
Bakhtadze said that during the Presidency of Donald Trump, US Administration and Government of Georgia have advanced to a new level of relationship.
“It is all time high and what is most important - it is all-inclusive,” Bakhtadze stated.
While in Georgia, Bolton also met with Georgian defense, Interior and Foreign minister and the head of the State Security Service.
