“Yes, Masaryk”, the President Tomas Garrigue Masaryk Exhibition

On October 29, 2018, the exhibition “Yes, Masaryk” was opened at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia by the initiative of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tbilisi, in order to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Foundation of Czechoslovakia.
Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Tbilisi Mr. Jiri Preclik made an opening speech and asked the public to pay attention to the presented exhibition dedicated to the first President of Czechoslovakia Tomas Garrigue Masaryk and the photographs made during his presidency. Mr. Preclik noted the important role that President Masaryk played for his country, who eventually succeeded in gaining Czechoslovak independence as a republic after World War I. He both founded and was the first President of Czechoslovakia and was called the "President Liberator".
The exhibition represents 20 panels with photographs of that period, the ideas and sayings of Tomas Garrigue Masaryk about politics, democracy or simply his thoughts in relation to everyday human life.
The exhibition at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia will last until October 31 and after this will move to the exhibition space of Tbilisi State University Museum until November 9, 2018.
