Georgia's Minister of Economy Met Furniture Manufacturer Companies in Turkey
Georgia's Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Giorgi Kobulia met with 12 leading Turkish furniture manufacturer company leaders within the frames of his visit to Turkey.
Some of these companies are already working in Georgia and are planning to increase production and export in the future.
The meeting was organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK). The DEIK President Nail Olpak, the Chair of the Turkey-Georgia Business Council, Cemal Yang?n and Chairman of the Business Council of Georgia, Jemal Yangin, as well as Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Turkey Giorgi Janjghava attended the meeting.
Kobulia introduced Georgia’s investment environment to the audience and provided detailed information on the prospects of developing of the furniture production and generally, the furniture market in Georgia.
Olpak, called on Turkish businessmen to contribute from all the vast opportunities that Georgia offers.
It is worth mentioning that the Turkish businessmen expressed their interest in the expansion of furniture production in Georgia.
TV Imedi to Fight against Return of UNM ‘Regime’
Imedi TV, one of the major private broadcasters, has made a special announcement confronting the United National Movement.
The statement appeared after the ruling party endorsed presidential candidate Salome Zurabishvili’s press statement. She said that she will compete in the second round runoffs, pledging “not to let” Georgia fall to Russia and Grigol Vashadze, UNM member and candidate of the united opposition.
“Pre-election period promises to be particularly heavy ahead of the second round, since on one side of the polls we have the UNM. Imedi TV and its owners have experienced what it means to have the UNM govern the country. Therefore, Imedi is changing its regular broadcasting schedule, so that the [UNM] regime does not return,” says the statement by TV Imedi, adding that the channel will start a new political talk show and increase the airtime for the existing one.
TV Imedi was founded by late businessman and oligarch Badri Patarkatsishvili and supported opposition demonstrations in 2006-2007. Following the government crackdown on opposition, TV Imedi was raided by the police and suspended broadcasting through a court decision. (By Mariam Chanishvili)
