Opening of Professional School of Theatrical Costumes and Accessories

The opening and presentation of Professional School of Theatrical Costumes and Accessories took place on December 12 at Shota Rustaveli Theater and Georgia State Film University.
The main goal of the school is to maintain and promote the profession of theatrical costume designer while helping those, who are interested in pursuing this particular career.
The project encompasses educational and production processes, which will increase the number of professionals in the above-mentioned fields.
Celebrated Georgian artist Ana Kalatozishvili is one of the founders of the school.
Kalatozishvili is known for costume designs created for dozens of stage productions in Georgia and abroad over the last three decades.
Kalatozishvili graduated from Tbilisi State Academy of Arts in 1992 and University of Applied Arts of Vienna, Austria in 1995.
She has been awarded prizes for her costume design from theatre competitions including the Georgian Theatre Prize Duruji.
Other founders include Georgian Prima Ballerina Nino Ananiashvili, Nodar Dumbadze Professional State Youth Theatre, Tumanishvili Theatre, Free Theatre, etc.
The school was created and opened with the financial support of Davit Sarajishvili Charity Foundation on the base of Shota Rustaveli Theater and Georgia State Film University. The project was supported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport of Georgia.
Shota Rustaveli Theater and Georgia State Film University are one of the oldest universities in the Caucasus and Georgia. The Theater and Film University has dedicated solely to the visual and performing arts.
The University traditionally trains specialists who make a significant contribution to the development of Georgian Regional Theaters.
