Armenian and Georgian PMs meet in Bolnisi

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan visited Georgia on January 15 and met his Georgian counterpart Mamuka Bakhtadze in Kvemo Kartli region, Bolnisi.

It is worth mentioning that Armenia's President Armen Sarkissian signed a decree Monday re-appointing Nikol Pashinyan as Armenia's Prime Minister on January 14.

Bakhtadze congratulated Pashinyan on his re-appointment.

The Georgian PMs office said the parties discussed bilateral relations during the informal meeting and expressed hopes for the further continuation of cooperation between Georgia and Armenia.

“I have had a very warm informal meeting with Georgia’s premier, my friend Mamuka Bakhtadze in Bolnisi. We have decided to hold an Armenian-Georgian business forum in Dilijan in May,” Pashinyan reports on his Facebook page.

Experts from Georgia to visit Croatia to discuss existing organ transplantation programs

Experts from Georgia will visit Croatia to meet with different Croatian public health authorities and discuss the country’s experience, best practices, existing organ transplantation programs and institutional set-up on January 22-25.

Georgia has the obligation under the Association Agreement with the EU to bring its national legislation on organ transplantation into compliance with the EU directives that set standards of quality and safety for the donation, procurement, testing, preservation and distribution of human organs intended for transplantation.

The study visit is organized by the European Commission’s Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX), in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia.

This TAIEX study visit represents the second activity in series of TAIEX events that aim to assist the Georgian officials in approximating the national legislation on organ transplantation with the respective EU Directives.

The experts will visit Clinical Hospital Dubrava, Ministry of Health, University Hospital Centre Zagreb, etc.
