Master students of Norwegian Academy of Music - Mike McCormick, Giuseppe Pisano and Mariam Gviniashvili will visit Tbilisi State Conservatoire on February 18-22 for a week-long project.
Lectures and presentations are public and free to attend at the Music Technology Studio (MTS).
Throughout the lectures, improvisation techniques, stereo panning techniques and setups will be discussed.
Mike McCormick stated that he will share exercises collected over several years of work as improvising musician along with the information on Supercollider.
“SuperCollider is a platform for audio synthesis and algorithmic composition, used by musicians, artists, and researchers working with sound. It is free and open source software available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. In this workshop, we will look at some of the basics of using SuperCollider to compose and improvise music,” reads the statement.
Giuseppe Pisano share experience of OEOAS in Napoli and the protocol for real-time composition that was developed there and will play and experiment with it together with the students.
Mariam Gviniashvili will talk about spatial music origins, its acoustic and electro-acoustic forms, multichannel music formats and techniques, software and tools and present some examples in the 8-channel speaker setup.
Within the frames of the event, a live electronic music concert will take place.
