KazTransGas-Tbilisi, a gas provide company, says that its specialists detected and cut off 69, 133 gas and water heaters installed by consumers in a prohibited way in 2018.
The company claims that the owners of the apartments, where the devices were cut off, were warned and informed of possible hazards, but the company specialists could again detect the prohibited devices re-installed during the repeated inspection.
"Once again, we would like to inform you that the devices connected to gas supply in a prohibited way are absolutely inadmissible and dangerous both for you and other residents of the building”, reads the statement released by the company.
Eleven people died and several others received injuries in the last month due to the gas-related incidents in Tbilisi.
Earlier this month a powerful explosion took place in the Digomi District of Tbilisi because of the gas leak which claimed four lives, a child among them.
Two employees of the KazTransGas have been detained and sent to pre-trial detention for negligence, as they were called by the residents of the building prior to the tragedy because of the smell of gas.
The carbon monoxide poisoning was named as a reason for the death of seven people in the Isani District of Tbilisi at the end of the last month.
The investigation is in progress regarding the case.
Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze has stated that tough regulations will come into play both for the gas provider companies and consumers.
KazTransGas stated that up to 100 people have been killed and 286 poisoned because of the faulty installation of gas heaters in Tbilisi.
