Lawyers demanding recusation of judge Levan Murusidze

Group of lawyers launched a campaign under the slogan: Recusation to Levan Murusidze, - Ana Dolidze, non-judge member of the High Council of Justice, told InterPressNews.

According to her, the questions about Murusidze’s past, reputation and partiality became the reason for the lawyers to demand the judge’s recusation.

"The fact that Levan Murusidze's factor would create discomfort for lawyers was inevitable because lawyers are responsible before the citizens and represent their interests. Naturally, when a judge, having such reputation, meets lawyers at the courtroom, the lawyers have certain questions: whether the trial will be held well, whether the judge will be impartial. So, this campaign was expected,” Ana Dolidze said expressing hope that the campaign will cause discomfort to Levan Murusidze. (IPN)
