Georgia Wins Rugby Europe Championship

The Georgian National Rugby Team Borjgalosbebi won the Rugby Europe championship after defeating Russian team with the score 22:6 at Kuban Stadium in Krasnodar city on March 17.
Before qualifying in final, Georgian National team defeated Romania 18 to 9 on February 9. After this, Georgia held its second match against Spain at Avchala Stadium in Tbilisi on February 17 and won with the score 24-10.
Moreover, on 2 March Borjgalosnebi traveled to Brussels to face Belgium and defeated the opponents with the score 46 to 6.
Also, Georgia held its third match against Germany in the western Georgian town of Kutaisi on March 10. The Georgian ‘Lelos’ handed a defeat to Germany 52 to 3. The team emerged the winner of the Rugby Europe Championship even before the final round.
Rugby Europe Championship is the premier rugby union competition outside of the Six Nations Championship in Europe in which Georgia, Germany, Russia, Spain, Belgium, and Romania compete for the title.
Georgia and Russia have met in Rugby 23 times. The first match was held in 1993 and Russia won it.
After that, the teams met in 2002 which ended in a draw. The remaining 21 games were won Georgian rugby players.
