870 000 EUR to be spent on development of Georgian Protected Areas
The grant agreement was signed in the administration of Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, according to which the Caucasus Nature Fund will allocate EURO 870,000 for the development of Borjomi-Kharagauli, Mtirala and Pshav-Khevsureti National Parks in 2019-2021.
This amount will be used for covering operating expenses for the administrations of the protected areas and the development of small infrastructure. Also, within the grant, the salaries of the rangers of the parks will be increased and food supplements will be provided.
The agreement was signed by Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Yuri Nozadze, Chairman of the Agency of Protected Areas Valerian Mchedlidze and Executive Director of Caucasus Nature Fund George Giacomini.
47% of the population never watches public broadcaster
According to the public opinion polls survey, 47% of the population in Georgia never watches the public broadcaster.
According to the same research, 13% watch the public broadcaster every day, 11% several times in a week, 5% several times in a month, and 24% more rarely.
Additionally, 3% believe that the Public Broadcaster is expressing the interests of all groups of society very well, and 32% believe that the broadcaster is doing it well rather than badly.
1786 respondents were questioned during the survey, who were selected randomly, using the Kish grid method. The average margin of error of the survey is 2,9%, however, each question has an individual margin of error which may not necessarily match the average margin of error. Fieldwork was being carried out on November 16-27, 2018.
Survey of the population on the entire territory of Georgia was conducted by the Caucasus Research Resource Center (CRRC), within the joint project of the Open Society Foundation and International Organization International IDEA.
