Turtle Lake to connect to Mtatsminda through Hiking Track

Turtle Lake is planned to be connected to Mtatsminda. Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze talked about this topic at a governmental meeting.

Deputy Tbilisi Mayor Ms. Maia Bitadze specified details about the project.

"The German International Cooperation Agency has allocated a grant based on the forest research; By the end of this year a six-kilometer-long hiking trail will connect the Turtle Lake to Mtatsminda," said Maia Bitadze.

According to the information, these trails will be equipped with camping places, resting places, ecological and educational infrastructure.



Saudi Sisters in Georgia seeking asylum after fleeing their country

Two sisters from Saudi Arabia, who are now in Georgia, are seeking asylum. They created a Twitter account called “Georgia Sisters”, said their father and brothers have arrived in Georgia and are looking for them.

“We are Saudi sisters, my name is Maha and my sister Wafa. We are in danger. We need your support to deliver our voice. We want protection. We want a country to welcomes us and protects our rights. Please help us. The Saudi government has canceled our passports. We are now in Georgia,” reads the tweet by the girls.

In a video posted on Twitter, one of the sisters says that they want protection. “We want a country that welcomes us and protects our rights."

The UN Refugee Agency in Georgia noted that the UNHCR does not comment on individual cases, including for reasons of confidentiality and data protection.

“We are closely monitoring the situation of the two sisters from Saudi Arabia who are currently in Georgia. UNHCR is present in Georgia and through its partners provides legal counseling and legal representation throughout the entire asylum procedure,” reads the statement by the UN Refugee Agency in Georgia on Facebook.



Tsotne Ebralidze Appointed as New Executive Director of Georgian Co-Investment Fund

Tsotne Ebralidze will be a new executive director of Georgian Co-Investment Fund.

He served as a Director of Tourism Development Fund of Georgia since 2018 and had held the post of a Director of Tourism and Real Estate Direction of Georgian Co-investment Fund since 2013.

Former head Giorgi Bachiashvili will take the position of the chairman of the Advisory Board of the Fund.

The Fund is currently the largest in the Central and Eastern Europe market and focuses on financing projects in Energy and Infrastructure, Hospitality and Real Estate, Agriculture and Logistics and Manufacturing.
