The US Department of State spokesperson commented on the recent situation regarding Tbilisi Pride.
“The United States is deeply concerned about reported threats targeting the LGBTI community in advance of the Tbilisi Pride parade. We categorically condemn the persecution of individuals for any reason, including their sexual orientation or gender identity.
We welcome the Georgian government’s statement that it will ensure the right of assembly and freedom of expression for each citizen. The United States will continue to urge Georgian authorities to protect all citizens regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity,” US State Department spokesperson said.
Tbilisi Pride will be held despite threats of disruption, event organizers said in a statement released earlier on Tuesday, despite the existing risks.
Air Malta to launch Malta-Tbilisi flights from July 4
According to the information provided by the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency (GCAA), Air Malta, the flag carrier airline of Malta, will launch Malta-Tbilisi seasonal flights from July 4, 2019.
The airline company was granted a permit to carry out services on June 14.
Flights will be carried out each Thursday by an Airbus A320 type aircraft.
Air Malta plans to increase flight frequency next year.
The company operates services to destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.
On April 1, 2019, Air Malta celebrated 45 years since it commenced its first operations.
