The Museum of Recipes was opened in Tbilisi, on Ingorokva Street, exactly two months ago.
The main goal of the museum is to collect old, modern, and innovative recipes. Traditional recipes will be preserved along with contemporary chefs’ recipes.
Space was created for culinary treasure protection as well as experimenting with innovative ideas, meaning that museum door is wide-open and welcomes everybody.
The visitors of the museum can participate in Georgian national dish preparation masterclasses and wine tasting. They can buy Spy Recipe and find handmade souvenirs made by Georgian artists.
SPY is a homemade spice mix necessary for preparing Georgian dishes. Svanetian Salt, Khinkali Spice mix, Satsivi and other spices for certain dishes are available.
“The museum is designed to preserve the culinary treasure for the future generation in Georgia. This way, we will have the opportunity to know where and when the dishes were created. The door of the museum is open to all interested persons and our goal to help women entrepreneurs, women winemakers, and women in art. Our museum was decorated by women artists (Ivy Design), the Wine Association of Women and the Women’s NGO,” said Mako Kavtaradze, founder of the Museum of Recipes.
The museum organizes very interesting activities regularly.
The evening of Georgian female winemakers will take place on July 25 at the Museum of Recipes. Four Georgian female winemakers will tell interesting stories and hold discussions. Advanced booking is required for the event.
Typically, winemaking in Georgia is associated with a “man’s job.” But the event gives an excellent opportunity to show that winemaking is a sphere a woman can be as successful as a man. It is essential for Georgia to overcome the impeding stereotypes in the sector.
