90 electric buses to be brought in Tbilisi

Tbilisi Transport Company stated that 90 electric buses are planned to be brought to Tbilisi. According to the information, buses will be 12 meters long.

The company says a tender will be announced to buy the buses, and the results will determine the relevant bus company.

Also, it is planned to announce the tender for the purchase of 110 new buses. There will be 654 buses in Tbilisi, while now there are 194 in the city.



Mayor of Tbilisi visited the construction site of new road coming from Lisi Lake

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze got acquainted with the construction works of the new road descending from Lisi Lake.

The road from Lisi Lake will connect to Marshal Gelovani Avenue. The 2km-long road will pass between Agro Hub and Mate Motors. The project envisages arrangement of two-lane concrete road, intersecting-crossing lanes. Within the framework of the construction of the road, the arrangement of a support wall and a network of outdoor lights in accordance with modern standards are also planned.

“We have started another very important project that will be very useful for our city. This is the route from Lisi Lake to Marshal Gelovani. This will certainly help slow down the traffic, as quite a lot of cars use this particular way. It should be completed in seven months. This road will be well-regulated, it’s a very nice and useful project,” said Kakha Kaladze.

The project costs GEL 15 million and will take seven months to complete.



Rescuers found seventh passenger dead in a crash on Pshavi-Omalo Road

Rescuers have found the body of another man died in a crash on Pshaveli-Abano-Omalo Pass. According to the Emergency Management Service, the rescue operation is over.

The accident occurred on July 27. The same day five passengers were found dead and one on the next day. There is one minor among the dead. Five people were injured in the accident, three of whom were taken to hospital.

The case is being investigated under Article 276.5 of the Criminal Code, which envisages the violation of traffic safety rules or rules for operating transport resulting in death.
