Speaker of Georgian Parliament meets with the veterans of War of Abkhazia
27 years after the War of Abkhazia, the Chairperson of the Parliament of Georgia Archil Talakvadze met with the veterans of the war.
During the meeting, Talakvadze talked about the war and noted that even after all those things that happened in the past, “we will be able to unite and live peacefully in the future.”
Talakvadze paid tribute to the memory of the fallen heroes for the country’s territorial integrity, expressed his gratitude towards the veterans, and presented them with symbolic gifts.
Veterans and invited guests discussed the events that took place 27 years ago and thanked the Speaker of the Parliament for the invitation.
The meeting was also attended by the Chairperson of the Defense and Security Committee, Irakli Sesiashvili, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee, Koba Kobaladze and the members of the Parliament, Simon Nozadze and Gogi Meshveliani.
Six renovated kindergartens to be opened in Tbilisi
Six renovated kindergartens will open in Tbilisi this fall.
The decision to renovate the buildings of the kindergartens was made after the Samkharauli National Forensics Bureau reported that these buildings were dangerous for children.
According to the head of the Kindergarten Management Agency of Tbilisi, Kakhaber Gvantseladze, two buildings, namely the 4th and 55th kindergartens are cultural heritage monuments and their reconstruction will be taking a longer time, as he noted, they will open next spring.
Two Belarusian tourists dead and one injured at Tetnuldi mountain
The rescuers of the Emergency Situation Service of Georgia’s Internal Affairs Ministry have found three missing tourists at Tetnuldi mountain, in Svaneti region yesterday.
According to the Interior Ministry, two of them are dead, and one is severely injured.
Three female Belarusian tourists had been missing since the evening of August 14. A helicopter of the Georgian border police was also involved in the rescue operation.
