Protest of Animals’ rights defenders at Rustaveli

The defenders of animals’ rights gathered near the Rustaveli Subway Station to protest the inhuman attitude towards the animals.

The main demand of the protesters is to enforce the law and “punish those who committed violence.” The protesters said that not a single person had been punished within the activation of the law that envisages punishment of those who committed violence against animals.

“A person who can kill and torture a living creature is a killer. The law, which should protect animals has existed for already several months but it is not working. I want to remind the public and the government that law should be same for everyone and it needs to be enforced,” noted Magda Tsulaia, one of the organizers of the protest and founder of Georgian Foundation for Integration Development.
