Wednesday, October 9
Creative and Cultural Industries Youth Forum will take place on October 15-16 at the Rooms Hotel Tbilisi. The event is organized by the British Council in Georgia in partnership with Creative Georgia.
The creation of the forum aims at gathering representatives of the creative industry in the UK and young creative entrepreneurs from Georgia in order to share experiences and build international ties.
The goal of the forum is also to create a common understanding of Creative and Cultural Industries (CCIs), the role of culture and creativity in economic and social development, capacity building and employability for young creative entrepreneurs. The youth forum will include a creative business idea pitch competition, which will give them a chance to prove the potential of their business idea and meet people who can help them succeed.
Cultural and creative sectors are comprised of all sectors whose activities are based on cultural values, or other artistic individual or collective creative expressions. Cultural and creative sectors drive innovation, acting as a catalyst for change in other sectors – and stimulate invention and progress across Europe’s diverse cultural landscape.
The forum topics include - the influence of the creative sector, art, and culture, innovation and entrepreneurship, creative economy for a sustainable society, future of cultural and creative industries for social inclusion and economic growth, etc.
The British Council is the UK’s international organization for cultural relations and educational opportunities. Founded in 1934, we are a UK charity governed by Royal Charter and a UK public body.
British Council has been in Georgia since 1993 and works in these centers. Every year, they reach out to thousands of students, educators, policymakers, academics, researchers, creators and entrepreneurs in Georgia.
Creative Georgia aims at creating an appropriate environment for creative industries development, via relevant programs, projects, and grants, building the capacity of creative entrepreneurs through training programs, seminars, and other activities, supporting the development of research activities in the creative industries sector.
