Giorgi Gakharia met with the representatives of the Business Associations on October 21st. During the official meeting, the Prime-Minister emphasized the importance of effective communication with Business Associations and said that all issues that could be resolved by the government in a fast and efficient manner would be resolved so.
“Our goal is strong, socially responsible Georgian business, but we also understand that before we come to full social responsibility, we are obliged to fully support the business, - told Georgian Prime-Minister, Giorgi Gakharia told reporters after the meeting with Business Associations.
The Prime Minister said that the state fully supports the business, but in this part, it is necessary to maintain balance.
“The main purpose of the meeting was to establish working communications channels with associations primarily. It is critically important for us in the near future to solve all the problems in about two to three months for the Georgian business to attract more investments and create more jobs. Today we are talking about plans for 2020 and we say that the government will do everything in the next two months to provide businesses with comfortable conditions to feel more confident, the business environment to be more predictable, the state apparatus to be more business-friendly,” said Giorgi Gakharia.
The Prime Minister shared that the meeting also touched upon the initiative related to the Labor Code. He said that the government will closely communicate with the business and trade union representatives on this issue.
“We talked about the Labor Code, which is just an initiative and has not yet been introduced to the Parliament. Note that the balance between employer and employee interests is the way our economy is going to go. Of course, the priorities here are quite difficult to sort out, but we will do so first of all with close business relations, as well as with trade unions.” said Gakharia.
The Prime-Minister declared that all decisions, legislative or systemic will be made with the full involvement of the business association, but the expectations should be adequate and objective.
Prime-Minister Gakharia continued to say that where the government responds with a "no," it should be adequately received.
“Where the government has to say 'no', this 'no' should be adequately accepted. It is a great responsibility and responsibility for all of us to respond quickly and not spend too much time on it. Because in most cases, ‘no’ is an answer, too,” noted the PM.
Gakharia stated that it is unfortunate that in most cases, businesses and companies have to wait for this answer the longest.
“The purpose of today's meeting is to rebuild where such communication mechanisms existed for quick decision-making and problem-solving, and to create new ones where none existed…You are a pragmatic people, you value time. We too pragmatically value time as the most important resource,” concluded Gakharia.
