Circe - Experimental Dance and Theater Platform and are presenting an event - W!O!men MADe- that will take place on October 24 at Club KHIDI. (Performance – W!O!men MADe – 20:00 Music Concert by Valerie Renay – 22:00)
The source of inspiration for choreographic performance is female.
Yuko Kaseki, the director, author of the concept, performer and choreographer, explores the vulnerable, vulnerable nature of existence and seeks for a meaning. He wants to "start a dialogue to think about a possible new world of the future."
Kaseki is director, choreographer, Butoh dancer, performance artist, improviser and teacher, based in Berlin since 1995. She studied Butoh dance and Performing Art in HBK Braunschweig with Anzu Furukawa and danced in her company Dance „Butter Tokio and Verwandlungsamt” in 1989-2000.
In 1995, Yuko Kaseki and Marc Ates founded the dance company cokaseki. She has been involved in various international projects with performers, musicians, and visual artists.
Butoh is a form of Japanese dance theatre that encompasses a diverse range of activities, techniques, and motivations for dance, performance, or movement.
Music and performance will be offered by Valerie Renay, who is a Berlin-based French-Caribbean performer, director, electronic pop chanteuse, musician, vocal coach, painter, DJ and half of Electro Art Pop Noir duo Noblesse Oblige. Empowering songs and dreamlike melodies colored by delicate poetry makes her music cross through darker boundaries, showing rougher edges while exploring captivatingly twisted electronic territories.
Co-Direction/Visual design: Teo Vlad, who studied Visual Communication in Film & TV at Edinburgh College of Art (UK), works since 2011 in Berlin as a freelance Performer and Audio-Visual Designer for Film & Theater.
Circe – Experimental Platform for Dance and Theatre and Goethe-Institut Georgien hosts Frontier in Body – Butoh Improvisation workshop by Yuko Kaseki on October 25.
Project is supported by Check In Georgia, Tbilisi City Hall, Hotel Rooms Tbilisi, Club KHIDI, Women’s Fund in Georgia, ARDI Insurance.
