World Week of Italian Cuisine

The World Week of Italian Cuisine takes place in November. For the entire week, Italian restaurants and ice cream shops are offering special menus and hosting special events to celebrate Italian food and wine traditions all over the world.
The main goal of the initiative is to promote the popularity of Italian cuisine and Mediterranean diets abroad and to showcase the distinctive features of Italian Made food ("Made in Italy"): quality, ecology, identity, and food culture.
This year's topic of the week is "Culture of Healthy Eating and Taste."
Seminars and conferences, tastings and events, meetings with chefs and cooking courses, concerts and exhibitions are planned in different countries, including in Georgia.
Throughout the week, several Italian restaurants in the Georgian capital will also offer Italian food fans new flavors, menus and special events.
Exhibition-Pasta Craft Contest, the final event of the Dante School of the Arts to present sculptures and awards to the winners will take place on November 18 at Fabrika Tbilisi. The Dante Alighieri Society in Tbilisi will award them with courses in Italian language and Dante Art School, and all participants will receive a commemorative bracelet.
After the award ceremony, dinner will be prepared by the representatives of the prestigious Campus Etoile Academy, chefs Francesco Triscornia and Emmanuelle Chivano.
The event organized by the Embassy of Italy in Georgia in cooperation with the Dante Alighieri Art School.
A master class on the benefits of the Mediterranean diet will be held for students and aspiring chefs of the Agricultural University of Georgia on November 19. The masterclass will be led by Prof. Nicoḷ Merendino and Dr. Angela Fattoretti from the University of Tuscia together with chefs Francesco Triscornia and Emanuele Civano from the prestigious Etoile Academy.
The masterclass will include a tasting of delicious typical dishes of the Mediterranean diet obtained using typical products of the Lazio tradition as well as typical Georgian dishes offered by the Agricultural University.
A Mediterranean diet incorporates the traditional healthy living habits of people from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea, including France, Greece and Italy.
Gala dinner with starred chef Italo Bassi will allow guests to taste dishes from a menu specially created to fully enhance the Italian flavor. 3 "Michelin Stars" Italo Bassi, the chef who lives for his passion for over thirty-five years, whose curriculum boasts various experiences and the ownership of the restaurant "ConFusion" of Porto Cervo - will propose his vision of Grande Cucina, based on the Italian tradition and enriched by precious ingredients and denomination of origin controlled (such as buffalo mozzarella, ham and prosecco) kindly made available by the Embassy partners.
The renowned Italian chef's new ConFusion restaurant in Porto Cervo is an exciting, luxurious, and surprisingly practical place.
Maestro Bassi will hold a masterclass the next day focusing on his approach to the world of cooking and will offer a haute cuisine dinner to fully enhance Italian excellence.
Italian Cuisine Week is led by The Extraordinary Italian Taste project, which aims to reinforce Italian quality by educating food lovers on how to identify and appreciate authentic Italian products.
