Georgia's Wounded Service Members at US Marine Corps Trials

25 Gold, 10 Silver and 6 Bronze Medals - these are the results of the participation of wounded Georgian servicemen in the US Marine Corps Trials.
Marine Corps Trials, an international competition organised by the United States' Marine Corps and involving teams from across the world.
Honoring each country and team—Canada, Columbia, France, Georgia, Italy, United Kingdom, Wounded Warrior Battalion-East and Wounded Warrior Battalion-West— is one of the goals of the event.
The Marine Corps Trials started on Wednesday, March 4th and ran through Wednesday, March 11th.
There were a total of 196 athletes representing the two Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Battalions and six foreign countries. The athletes participated in 12 adaptive sports that include archery, rowing, shooting, golf, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, sitting volleyball, track, field, swimming, and cycling.
Representatives of Georgian Defense Forces participated in 8 types of parasports and obtained 41 medals. 5 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medals were won by Georgian servicemen in rowing.
The sitting volleyball team successfully competed as well. Its members won first place and a gold medal.
The list of gold medalists for cycling includes Georgian military servicemen Aluda Seturidze, Irakli Kuchukhidze and Lasha Adeishvili. Georgian military also won one silver and one bronze medal in the same sport.
The team was successful in shooting, in which Temur Dadiani and Tengo Shubitidze obtained gold medal, Manuchar Nakishashvili - silver, Sandro Khujadze - bronze medalists.
The closing ceremony of the Marine Corps Trials took place in California.
The 16-member team of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia participated in the competition together with other servicemen from different countries.
Georgian servicemen have been participating in the Marine Corps Games since 2014. Last year’s team obtained 38 medals.
