Famous museums offering virtual tours during self-quarantine

Amid coronavirus-induced social distancing and self-quarantine, various companies have come up with different solutions to the lack of visitors. Most museum activities and events are cancelled or postponed until further notice, due to the virus outbreak.
Fortunately, in order to beat isolation boredom, museums, parks and theaters around the world are offering virtual performances.
It is worth mentioning that New York's Metropolitan Opera will be offering free digital shows every night at 7:30 p.m. from March 16th through March 22nd.
The digital age has made it possible and easy to visit some of the world’s most famous museums from the comfort of your own home.
According to Fast Company, Google Arts & Culture teamed up with over 2500 museums and galleries around the world to bring anyone and everyone virtual tours and online exhibits of some of the most famous museums around the world.
Google Arts & Culture collection includes the British Museum in London, the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and the Guggenheim in New York City.
One of Korea’s most popular museums can be accessed from anywhere around the world. Google’s virtual tour takes you through six floors of Contemporary art from Korea and all over the globe.
Google Arts & Culture is an online platform through which the public can access high-resolution images of artworks housed in the initiative's partner museums.
Seventeen partner museums were included in the launch of the project.
The platform now features more than 32,000 artworks from 46 museums, and image acquisition is underway at the remaining partner museums. It is now available in 18 languages, including English, Japanese, Indonesian, French, Italian, Polish, and Portuguese.
