After suspending the education processes as a prevention measure, schools have switched to online platforms. From March 30th, the television program Teleschool is also available on GPB ( Georgian Public Broadcasting) for the students who do not have access to the internet connection. In addition, the coordination council created by the Prime Minister launched the first Georgian educational platform Feedc Edu.
The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli, discussed interesting formats of remote studying offered by the ministry. He believes in the effectiveness of the TV broadcast classes on GPB as the lessons are led by the experienced teachers and the project is expected to have successful academic results.
“As you may know, due to the epidemic, studies in the classrooms and auditoriums have been temporarily suspended, but we shall not let this challenge interfere with the studying process. Therefore, schools and universities are transferred to the remote model of teaching. As a result of the government’s and GPB’s collaboration, we have started an extremely important and engaging project Teleskola. It is noteworthy that each and every student will be able to watch it, whether they have access to the internet or not,” announces Chkhenkeli.
The minister introduced another initiative, a fully Georgian communication platform for remote studying. Feedc Edu is free of charge and works on any type of smartphone device without the need of high-speed internet support. The project includes features such as sharing homework, uploading/downloading attachments and conducting group studying.
Coordination council informs that they implement intensive events to ensure that every link in the education system chain catches up the annual program.
