Elene Khoshtaria evaluates de-oligarchizaion draft law, states it's 'absurd'
Elene Khoshtaria evaluated the draft law on de-oligarchization as an "absurd" and said that it is not the law of de-oligarchization, but of consolidation of oligarchization, which means "consolidation of Bidzina Ivanishvili's power and persecution of opponents".
"From the point of view of the European perspective, this [de-oligarchization bill] is an absolute absurd and a backward step. This is also the position of Europe. It is an absolute illusion that anyone would consider this a step of de-oligarchization. There is nothing surprising in this - we must understand that "Georgian Dream" will not do anything for us to enter Europe. That's why unity is necessary to achieve real de-oligarchization", said Elene Khoshtaria.
The draft law on de-oligarchization was developed on the example of the Ukrainian law with similar content and essentially repeats the norms of the Ukrainian law.
Working group created to prepare the procedure for electing United National Movement chairman
Giorgi Baramidze, one of the leaders of the National Movement, stated at the briefing that the issue regarding the election of the chairman of the UNM party was raised, and the process has formally begun with the creation of a working group that should prepare the rules by which the chairman of the "National Movement" should be elected.
According to Baramidze, the working group consists of 7 members and Giorgi Baramidze will be the moderator. Members of the working group are also: Giorgi Botkoveli, Tornike Bikashvili, Nino Kvitaishvili, Bacho Dolidze, Levan Bezhashvili, Ivane Petriashvili.
"This group will have a very difficult job to create a rule that meets many issues and criteria. Among them, this criterion is that the elections, the voting procedure should be fair, transparent and understandable to everyone, that not someone else, especially the representative of Georgian Dream regime or other interested parties, but the members and supporters of the "National Movement" should take part in these elections.
There is also a great desire for our emigration to participate in this process, where there are also many members and supporters of the "National Movement". All this should happen so that no one doubts the justice of this process. The result should be objective. For this purpose, a group composed of those people was formed...", he said.
