Parliamentary group led by Dimitri Khundadze holds meetings in Thailand

The parliamentary group of Georgia, led by Dimitri Khundadze, held meetings in the highest legislative body of the Kingdom of Thailand in Bangkok. The Parliament of Georgia released the information about this.
According to their reports, at the meeting with Chalermchai Boonyaleepun, the head of Thailand's friendship group with Georgia, the parties noted that parliamentary diplomacy plays an important role in deepening bilateral cooperation between the countries.
Also, the importance of the 30-year diplomatic relationship between the Kingdom of Thailand and Georgia was noted.
"A conversation was held with the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Thailand about the possible participation of Georgia as an observer in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The conversation also touched upon the complex processes caused by the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war in in Europe. The parties agreed that more needs to be done to restore peace.
The desire and willingness to strengthen economic ties between Georgia and Thailand in the direction of trade and investments was expressed. They agreed to hold a Georgian-Thai business forum in the near future.
The sides of Georgia and Thailand talked in a working format about promotion of regular airlines, strengthening of promotion of tourism potential and signing of a memorandum of mutual cooperation between the two countries in the direction of tourism", the spread information said.
Also, A desire was expressed for friendship between the ancient capitals of both countries, Mtskheti and Ayutthaya. World cultural heritage sites of both cities are protected by UNESCO.
According to the information spread, the parties talked about the need to open a representative office of Georgia in Thailand. Along with Dimitri Khundadze, the parliamentary delegation included Sozar Subari, Gela Samkharauli and Irma Zavradashvili.
