US Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan Visits Constitutional Court in Batumi

On April 20, US Ambassador Kelly Degnan visited the Constitutional Court of Georgia in Batumi and met with the judges.
In the statement released by the court, it is written that during the meeting, the judges and staff of the office had the opportunity to ask the ambassador questions on various issues of cooperation between Georgia and the USA in the legal field.
"Chairman of the Constitutional Court, Merab Turava, thanked the Ambassador for her visit and contribution to the strengthening of the strategic partnership between Georgia and the United States of America," the court's statement reads.
The US Embassy also disseminated information about the visit, which included joint photos of Ambassador Kelly Degnan and the judges of the Constitutional Court of Georgia.
"Georgia's future, in many ways, depends on its judges. This is an honorable and significant responsibility. During her tenure in Georgia, Ambassador Degnan visited many courthouses and met with numerous judges to discuss their work and challenges.
During her visit to the Constitutional Court of Georgia, the Ambassador noted the importance of this court in the path towards the country's democratization and expressed hope that the decisions made by the court will always be dictated by the best interests of Georgia. The United States remains committed to cooperating with Georgia towards this purpose."
